#437 The Gulbene Straume Rug
This unusual rug was a reWoven experiment, woven in honour of an invitation from the Gulbene Museum to speak at a conference dedicated to the life of the genius Latvian artist, designer and textile guru, Julius Straume. This rug was woven according to one of Straume’s original Latvian compositions, by the amazing Minaye in the true Borchalo way. It’s now in the permanent collection of the Gulbene Museum in Straume’s hometown.
